In July 2017, and after a lot of preliminary work, WALO – TL received the VDE certification for the globe lamp IRIS that WALO – TL manufactures for NEO/CRAFT. The independent VDE testing and certification institute tests the safety and electrical standards of products, and their certification logo stands for an internationally recognized quality standard. In cooperation with OLEDWorks, the OLED panel was certified by VDE as well.
The VDE certification of IRIS goes along with ENEC10 approval. ENEC stands for European Norms Electrical Certification, which is a product label for electrical appliances in the EU.
As opposed to the CE marking, these two approval labels are not simply declarations by the manufacturer but actual approval labels granted by independent testing institutes.
